ACS Welcomes New Members to Main and Independent Boards

ACS is delighted to announce that Patrick Sewell has joined the main Board of Directors. As Managing Director of Sewell Retail, which was voted in the top 10 of the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For list in 2011, Patrick’s knowledge of the sector will be a valuable addition to the main board.

Thu 27 Oct 2011

Patrick joins as a current representative from the independent board and will take part in discussions on the overall strategy and running of ACS.

Speaking on his appointment, Patrick Sewell said, "Having supported the ACS for over 10 years, I am delighted to step up my commitment to an organisation that is so crucial to the independent's future success".

ACS is also welcoming five new members to its independent board. Retailers Paul Cheema, Dean Holborn, Tom West, Rav Garcha and Michael O Loughlin represent a range of stores across the UK and between them have won several industry awards.

ACS Chief Executive James Lowman said: “I am delighted that we have been able to expand our knowledge base in the ACS boards. The addition of these outstanding retailers will serve to drive the organisation forward and become an ever more effective voice for the sector.”

The Independent Retailer Board is made up entirely of independents whose main task is the development of a range of services to give maximum benefit to the independent operator, as well as being a useful sounding board for new ideas, like trials on local sourcing and initiatives like shopper surveys.
