Alan Johnson MP [former health secretary and home secretary], said: “The team at Sewell Group has done a wonderful job with Hull’s health facilities in recent years. The company and its people should be congratulated for what they have achieved on behalf of NHS Hull and for the people of our city.”

we build
so well -
because we care

Today we continue to grow, develop and deliver high quality, on time and on budget to clients in the Education, Health, Commercial and Community sectors.

When it comes to construction, we take a broad, thoughtful and sustainable approach. We want to add value when it comes to regeneration projects and make a real difference to the communities that will go on to use the facilities that we build. We place ourselves firmly within the communities in which we work and deliver projects from within, working alongside local people to deliver schemes that make a positive impact on local life.

Furthering our track record of creating some of the region’s most significant and striking buildings, we continue to play a major part in the transformation of the city of Hull. Sewell Group is the local company at the heart of the Hull Esteem Consortium.

Hull Esteem Consortium is delivering 17 schools to the city, including seven new build schools and 10 remodel or refurbishment projects, as part of Hull’s £465m Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme. Due for completion by 2014, the programme will also deliver significant ICT investment across all secondary schools in the city.

Sewell Construction, headed up by director Steve Gibson, has also been pivotal in making Hull’s Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) programme one of the most successful in the UK. To date, nine schemes have been delivered and are fully operational, with a total capital expenditure of around £50m. Sewell Construction designed and constructed all nine of these LIFT schemes, all of which were delivered on time, within budget and to exceptionally high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Work on a tenth LIFT scheme, the £16m Wilberforce Health Centre, and eleventh, the £14.7m Bransholme Health Centre, is well underway. A 2.6 acre site on Hessle Road, west Hull, has also recently been acquired for the development of a new health and community facility.
